I was trying to send a few large photo files and Entourage crashed. A database rebuild tool came up and I rebuilt the database and restarted Entourage. ALL of my old emails are gone - inbox, outbox, personal folders with old messages.

I tried to import an old Master Identify database from a backup and Entourage doesn't seem to recognize it.

Not sure what to do next

Your mail is probably safe. Entourage has probably forgotten where it is.

In Entourage select Entourage --> Switch Identity... Your current empty
database will probably be called "Main Identity" or some variation. If
you see another "Main Identity" then switch to that.

You should also see a backup of your former identity before it was
rebuilt. You can try using that one too although it may still have some
corruption. At least you'll know where your data is before you do any
sort of rebuild.

This page is a good place to learn about how Entourage works with
identities and how to care for them:

"Identity/Database"

Hope this helps!
