Entourage crashes on takeoff

I have IMAC Intel Core Duo with 2.6 MHz, 4 MB RAM, running Entourage 11.3.7
in Office/Mac 2004. Recently Entourage crashes....freezes with spinning
beach ball....whenever I try to perform any operation...send and
receive...compose email, etc. I¹ve tried five or six times to write this
missive. I¹ve started, restarted, rebuilt database, cleaned up database,
removed all copies of main identity from MS User Data....which hasn¹t
helped. Is there anything else you would suggest before reinstalling
Office??

I have been having this same problem since mid-afternoon yesterday. Do you have any further info on what is causing the problem. Don't want to have to reinstall office! :eyeroll:

I was hoping I would hear from you, Diane...thanks. Actually, I discovered a
message with an attachment in my outbox which wouldn't send. I deleted it
and problem solved (after two days of difficulty). Why??//Hal

Thank you, Diane. I held down the shift key and was able to receive messages and was able to delete a message in my outbox. Haven't gotten any further than that yet.

Just not sure how long I have to be holding down the shift key while using Entourage for mail. Guess I'll find out. At least I know where to go to find possible solutions. I've been using since 2004. Never had a problem at all with my Mac or software before this.

This is supposed to be fixed in Entourage 2008.

I've been involved in my own mess the past few days. My old computer died in
the middle of moving to an Intel iMac. The G4 is just not worth putting any
money into so will have to move all 4 internal drives to FW.

If you see messages still in the Inbox, then you know to restart with shift
key down. As I mentioned to Hal, this is supposed to be fixed in Entourage
2008 with SP1.
