Hi,
A couple of our users are having issues with Entourage.
When they schedule a meeting for more than 5 people (by creating new calendar event, selecting contacts to invite, and checking schedules before inputting a time) Entourage always crashes. Normally it is when they move the purple "time" bar around in the Scheduling tab of inviting people to meetings, but it often crashes without moving the bar.
We have tried with every update, from 12.1.0 to 12.2.0 and the problem persists. Completely uninstalled & reinstalled office & still happens. This is happening with three different users and is incredibly frustrating for them as they are losing alot of time with this and can't do their jobs properly as a result.
We did not have this problem with 2004.
Any suggestions, anyone?!

I am having this problem also, OS 10.5.7, Enntourage 2008 version 12.2.0. It crashes when I'm scrolling days, not moving the time bar. I'm scheduling about 17 people.

This could be a sign of database corruption. For Exchange accounts, rather
than rebuilding, create a new Identity and let Entourage sync back up.

If you do have info in the folders "On My Computer", then select work off
line. Delete the Exchange account THEN do a rebuild. After the rebuild add
the account back.

How to rebuild:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/database/rebuild.html>

Make a duplicate in the Finder first as additional backup. A rebuild does
make a duplicate, but sometimes in the process the original and backup get
merged resulting in total disaster. It's rare but it happens.

Hi Diane, thanks for the reply.
However we have already tried rebuilding the database, both by using the Database Utility, and by deleting the account/database completely and re-adding. This was tried both before and after uninstalling and reinstalling Office 08.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
-Suzie

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it¹s your User¹s folder that contains the problem.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test Entourage. You
should be able to test this problem without entering account info.

The other test is to create a new Identity in your regular User. Some
preferences in a database are actually stored in the database and don't seem
to be fixed by rebuilding.

These two test will determine if it's your Identity or your User's account
that contains the problem. Once we know where the problem is located we can
fix it.

Hi Diane, thanks for your response.
Tried a new user account and new Identity; both resulted in the same crashes as before.
This is affecting three separate users on three macs. They are all sending out calendar invites from accounts that they are delegates for, which they could do with no problems in Office '04 and we have not changed any of our Exchange settings etc since upgrading them to 2008.
I have a crash log from one of the users I can post/email to you if that's of any use?
Thanks,
-Suzie
