Entourage crashes with no internet connection

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

Entourage crashes every time if I do not have an internet connection first. Thus if I put my laptop to sleep, with Entourage running using a wireless connection, Entourage will crash when I wake the computer up as it take a bit of time to establish the wireless connection again. If I shut down the wireless connection then Entourage will crash the first time it tries to get email. Is there a fix for this?

Do you have the latest version installed?? I have seen it in the past
but I don't anymore with 12.1.2.
