I am the in-house IT manager for a small firm and am attempting to fix an Entourage 2008 Database. Everything worked and then... The user opened up entourage and all e-mails are gone. I have attempted the MS repair ulility, deleting pref files, and importing the file, but no luck. I can seen the file still has content by viewing it with BB Edit. Any help would be appericated.

Most likely the user moved, deleted, or renamed the User Identity folder
(usually
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/Main Identity).
Therefore, the next time the user launched Entourage, the app "helpfully"
created a new empty one. (This "feature" is a major source of confusion in
Entourage.)
If you can find a copy of the original folder on the user's hard drive or a
backup, you can put it back where it belongs. If it's been deleted and the
trash emptied and there's no backup, the user is out of luck.
