Entourage database

Hi everyone. I have a problem and someone might have a solution. My fault,
but in an effort to clear space it appears I deleted all my emails. However I
have found a file called database which is a microsoft entourage database
file and around 3.3 gigs which I am thinking (hoping) is my email database
(fingers crossed) located in Office X identities / Main Identity / Database.
I have double clicked this file to open and nothing. It wont open in
entourage. Also I have tried to do an import from entourage but you cannot
select this file as it doesn't highlight. Any suggestions or am I stuffed.
