Entourage delegate problem with error 65486

Can anyone using Entourage 2004 SP2 with Exchange delegate access
to another user in Entourage SP2 (within an SSL enforced environment)?
(Tools/Accounts/Edit account/Delegate tab, Add button in "My Delegates" pane
of window).

I always get the error message:
Error: Entourage cannot connect to the Exchange server - Make
sure that your password was entered correctly and try again.
(Error: 65486)

regardless of settings. I've used the Advanced tab to enter our backend
server address with no success.
