entourage deleted all my messages

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

After I installed and ran Entourage, I set up 2 of my email accounts on it, Comcast, and my school email address. after i "sent/recieved", it imported all of my messages onto entourage but deleted them from my original servers..aka when i log into comcast or my school email, there is nothing in my inbox. This is a problem for me because i sync those emails to my phone, and when my phone "sent/recieved" it deleted everything because the original server's were empty too.. Anyone know how to resolve this?

thank you

When you set up your accounts (sounds like they are POP) you can select to
download and delete from server or "leave on server." This setting is in
Accounts --> select account --> Option tab ˆ Leave on server

Since you did not check what type of account, I'm guessing you don't have a
good understanding of the different types. See this page for an
explanation:

Next, you didn't mention having a backup.Take this opportunity to learn from
your mistake and start a good backup strategy.

Entourage and Time Machine (creates chronological backup of Identity can be
used by both Tiger and Leopard users)
