This was a problem with a previous version of Entourage 2008 which I
resolved by re-installing my IMAP account but has just started
occurring again with an upgrade to 12.2.2 (co-incidence?)
IMAP account in Entourage is not receiving mail (sending ok). Progress
bar shows that it is going through the motions to download the
messages but they are not appearing in the Inbox. After doing a
rebuild of the Entourage database (holding down Control at boot up of
Entourage) this now seems to be downloading new mails if I restart
Entourage but after a few successful goes at receiving gives up
receiving new mails without a restart?
Tried using Mac Mail and Eudora with the same IMAP account and these
are working no problem as is my iPhone with same account.? Problem is
that Entourage is by far the best mail client for business use (as
much as I hate to say that about Microsoft). Mac mail is terrible at
handling attachments other than images and no other software has such
a powerful search function as Entourage.
What am I missing ? I can't find any reference to this problem in a
web search.
