Entourage doesn't see emails or accounts

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop I had to reinstall Office 08 but first I tried to backup Entourages's files - like my emails - so they could be brought back in. I did not export them. I moved my copied files (identities, database, messages, etc.) back into the Microsoft User Data / Office 2008 Identities folder. But when I open Entourage, it's not seeing my accounts or the emails. Why not??? I can't import anything cuz like I said I didn't export. Please help!!!

Your account info is stored in your database. It sounds like you are using a
new empty Identity. Under Entourage in the Menu bar, select Switch Identity
and select your old Identity. It will only show up if you moved it to the
correct location.

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/your identity

I did that, the emails still don't come up. Thanks for your help - I don't know where I went wrong - I'm sure I won't go thru this again though.

Is the Identity you saved as backup the exact same version of Entourage that
is installed now?

For example, if the backup Identity was created in Entourage 12.2.3 and you
now have Entourage 13.0.3 installed it cannot see an Identity created in
v12. Same if the backup was an Entourage 2004 or Entourage X Identity.

Let me know the details of your older files.

Yes it was the exact same version. I finally got back to the computer store and the mac expert there couldn't figure it out either. So I just started over. I have a new issue with Entourage and downloading images so I'll post it in a new thread.
