Entourage downloads duplicates

I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing this same issue... This seems
to happen only on Intel-based Mac laptops running Entourage 2004.
Randomly, but usually at least once a day, Entourage will download
duplicates of all messages left on a POP server. Almost seems like the
"Get all messages left on server" routine is being run, but of course,
that button is not being clicked by the user. Does no good to rebuild
the database, or reinstall Entourage, or get rid of the Office prefs.
Seems like a bug, but only seems to affect MacBooks.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Nope, not just Intel MacBooks. It happened to me, although nowhere
near that frequently, on my PowerPC G4. I'm now on an Intel-based
iMac and have switched to Mail and it hasn't happened once in almost
seven months.

If you do a search on this forum, you won't see reports of duplicates and
Intel-based Macs. I don't think this is a bug or you would see many reports
on this. Problems with duplicates are generally ISP specific where they just
go a little bonkers at times and send out duplicates.

Other than giving you info on how do deal with duplicates, I can't offer a
permanent solutions. See this page for several scripts that deal with
duplicates.
