Entourage dumps attachments on my desktop

I am running Microsoft Entourage 2008. Occasionally, I receive or forward e-mails with attached files. In most cases, I have the choice of where to save the attachments.

But some messages from Windows users have text attached as a file. I can look at these messages just fine on my Mac, but when I switch to the Finder or quit Entourage, the Desktop of my mac is littered with downloaded message files.

And if I receive a message with a PDF and view the PDF from Entourage, the same thing happens. When I quit Entourage, the Desktop of my Mac is littered with files, even if I didn't ask Entourage to save them.

Have looked at Entourage's Knowledge Base and have explored all Preferences and can't seem to find a way to at least make sure these files get downloaded in my Home User\Downloads folder rather than Home User\Desktop. Any way to stop this?

Just to be clear...these are attachments sent with the message now files you
download from links in a message.

Entourage should be storing your attachments in the Saved Attachments folder
inside the Microsoft User Data folder.

There are some scripts that will move attachments. Check your rules to be
sure you are not moving the attachments to your desktop.
