Whenever I move an email into a folder I created On My Computer, in
order to save the email, the Entourage program also puts a copy of the
email in the Trash. Why?

In order to "move" the message, Entourage has to copy it from one
lovation to the other and then delete it from the originating location.
The later is done through moving the message to the trash.

I guess the app "plays it safe" by not immediately emptying the trash,
