entourage e-mal question...rules don't work??

Hi I have installed entourage to my mac ( newbie to macs) ad hving an awful
time with entourage mail.

no matter how set up my mail 'rules' , everyhting still goes into the inbox
and only goes to the specified folders if i manually apply the rules.

what am i doing wrong?

I'ts a gmail account and im setting up the rules as 'pop'...

hope someone can help
(p.s I have checked the 'enable rule'box)

Without examples of how you have your rules set, we wouldn't know what to
suggest.

There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:

Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter
Rules (custom rules you create)

They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the order
they are listed. (top runs first)

Accidentally creating a Mailing List Manager rule when marking a message as
junk is one of the most common errors and since the MLM rules run first this
can cause all mail to be moved incorrectly.
