Entourage Email Connecting to ldap.yahoo.com Virus or Trojan?

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

I am trying to figure why Entourage intermittently tries to connect to ldap.yahoo.com — if I have a virus or someone is attempting to monitor my Mac?

Spotlight doesn't find ldap.yahoo.com on my drives.

Google hit the text string ldap.yahoo.com but no help why it is tripping Entourage.

Entourage 2008 (all updates ran) is set to not download graphics, has happened a several times over the past week...

Entourage is set to NOT download images.
Nothing is in Outbox or Drafts.

I deleted Microsoft News Server from my Entourage left column 'Folders on my Computer' a long time ago.

Please help...

I can't see an Edit option...

The exact message is: Connecting to ldap.yahoo.com

The message is displaying in the very bottom-right corner of Entourage alongside a horizontal blue & white barbershop pole status bar.

it's a legit LDAP server. No big deal. Even though it's a bit obsolete,
it's one of the old-times online directories (like BigFoot),

Good to know...any idea what is prompting Entourage to connect to it?

And how I can disable Entourage from doing such things?

It's in the default LDAP server entries. To disable this, simply remove
this LDAP from the list of LDAP in the Tools>Accounts pane.

I think you nailed it: Entourage> Tools> Accounts: Directory Service

2-click on Yahoo! People Search
and there is the LDAP Server: ldap.yahoo.com

I backed up one step, highlighted Yahoo! People Search, and deleted that Directory Service

I also found there:

Bigfoot: ldap.bigfoot.com
Infospace: ldap.infospace.com
WhoWhere: ldap.whowhere.com

Is it safe to delete these (I don't know HOW they got there and don't believe I use them)?

Thanks, I appreciate your help...

If you never use these services, you can safely delete the corresponding
settings. The were automatically added when you installed Entourage.
They are there by default (sort of like the Google search box in
Safari),
