Entourage email-saved without .txt extension

When I save an email, it is saved without the ".txt" extension. When a Windows user attempts to open the resulting text file, it shows up with a generic icon and will not open. Other than manually typing in the ".txt" extension every time I save an email, is there a way to have Entourage automatically save emails with the extension added?

Thanks!

Hmmmmm. This is a system option. In Finder preferences under Advanced,
select show file extensions, BUT the save Entourage message as text does not
add the extension.

You should be able to do this using an Automator services or using an
AppleScript.
