At this point, it'll help to know more information.
* What software is running your IMAP server? What version?
* How are you connecting to the IMAP server?
* Direct ethernet connection to LAN?
* Direct wireless connection to LAN?
* Either of the above to a proxy server?
* Do you use a VPN connection?
* Are you behind a router that shares IP addresses via NAT?
* What version of Entourage are you running?
* What version of the OS are you running?
* Are you running other software that might affect things?
* Virus checking?
* Firewall software?
Unfortunately, this is probably going to turn out to be a
network/configuration/conflicting-software problem rather than an Entourage
problem, though it is always possible there is some interaction where
Entourage isn't working quite right.

I asked our Admin at the Office. But he told, that the server is running
correctly. Every other Mailclient doesn't have a problem with it - only
Entourage. It may be an Entourage error.
What can i do now??
[recap of older post]
This is our internal error netLostConnectionErr, and is generated when
Entourage hits eofErr trying to read a network stream from the server and
expects more data to be coming. It could also be generated if, when trying
to create a connection, we (apparently) successfully authenticate, but then
the network connection closes immediately thereafter.
A network sniff could help determine whether or not the server is doing the
closing of the connection (and possibly why) or whether Entourage is
expecting more data than it should.

P.S. Since the original posting (about POP3), the issue was apparently
resolved by the ISP. I do not know the details.

Hello Folks,
i'm just trying around two weeks to solve the Error 17895 Problem,
which exists in using Entourage with an IMAP Account. I tried
everything... changing the settings inside entourage, switched between
several accesspoints - without any positive result?!
the error 17895 still exists :-(
I hope anyone can help me to solve the problem??
cheers buddy
