Entourage event export: reminder problem

Hello
When I export an event from the Entourage 2004 calendar by dragging it
to the desktop and then import the .ics file to another program (say
iCal or PhoneDirector) it does not include the audible reminder - it
comes out as silent or message only, but no sound. The preferences in
Entourage are set for an audible alarm. Checking the .ics file with a
text editor, I can't see any relevant alarm info such as found in
events exported from iCal, which work fine. Please let me know if this
is a bug or I need to try other settings.
