Entourage, Exchange 2007 and delegate...

I've found some post about similar problems, but none with the SAME
problem of mine. I spent many hours looking for an answer and now I'd
like to understand if this is a bug...

The actors are:
- a local domain with Windows 2003 Server (domain.it) with some
- an Exhange 2007 Server which manages @domain.it SMTP, but also
@alpha.it and @beta.it SMTP.
- a Mac with Entourage 2004.

I set up a main exchange account in Entourage ([email protected]) and it
works right. Then I add a delegate account that uses a secondary
domain ([email protected]). The account "generic" exists in the active
directory and it has got only one SMTP ([email protected]). I get a
"Http error, resource not found" from Entourage in this way.

If I add a SMTP into the main domain to the "generic" user (i.e.
(e-mail address removed)), and set up as delegate account "(e-mail address removed)"
I succeed. But in this way the sender of a mail is
"(e-mail address removed)" (and sometimes people who answers get an error
message).

No way to send mail with "(e-mail address removed)"?

I'm trying to wrap my mind around this but I'm not clear on your problem.

A delegate for an account in a different domain is unable to...

connect to the delegated account?
send on behalf of the delegated account?

What are you doing in Entourage that prompts the error message you
mention above?

Do you have this issue with Outlook for Windows? If so then you should
probably post your question in one of the Exchange Server newsgroups.

While this would defeat the purpose of using delegation, you could also
set up the second Exchange account fully in Entourage rather than as a
delegated account.

Hope this helps!
