Entourage, exchange and proxies, please Help!?

Hi,

I am running the latest Entourage on Tiger. With the exchange account on
Exchange 2000. I have trouble as this computer needs to go through a Proxy
for it's web access. Entourage needs no proxy for it's access to the mail
server. When I turn the web proxy on, entourage always wants to use the
proxy. How do I set entourage not to use the proxy??

THanks.

You probably need to add entries to your "bypass proxy" settings found
in the same System Preference pan as you would set your proxy.

If your internal domain is something like "domain.com", add "
*.doman.com " to your bypass proxy settings. Or you can specifically add
the fully qualified domain name of your Exchange server such as
"exchange.domain.com".

Hope this helps! bill

If you have the capability, you could also try defining a .pac file.

In the network settings, check the box for automatic proxy
configuration at the bottom of the proxies tab. I had the settings
just like Bill suggested, and I could connect to Exchange, but it was
really slow until I started using the .pac file.

Just a tip: I wouldn't suggest using the .pac option in the dropdown
next to "Configure Proxies". I don't know what the difference is
between that and the method I suggested above but for whatever reason
it doesn't work.
