I am experiencing a recurrence of the problem I describe in this post, even after I thought I had fixed it:

Yesterday my Entourage/exchange server inbox seemed to working fine, with about 250 messages in it.

This morning when I opened it, I discovered multiple copies of the message in the inbox. When I say "multiple" I mean thousands of copies of some of the messages that were in there yesterday, and some new messages. There are now about 63,000 messages showing as in my inbox.

With Entourage running, it shows an error message about the user exceeding the size limit. I generally know about size limitations. However, I should not be having size limit problems now. Here's why:

As I indicate in the linked post, this happened two weeks ago. At that time, I did have a large inbox. We fixed it by moving my accumulated mail onto my hard drive. (I also had to rebuild my folder structure - very time consuming.)

After completing this procedure, our IT person checked the size of my mailbox and it was fine. So my mailbox on the server should be very manageable, unless my account is still holding onto that space for some reason in a way that was not apparent to her.

My threshold question is whether this sounds like a server problem or a problem with my laptop? I am a Mac user connecting to the PC Server. However, the system has been working fine for months overall, though the size was getting to be too big.

The only other potentially relevant fact is that our mail server is known to be pretty full of data and maxed out from performance standpoint. I suppose that could be causing this problem, although the server doesn't seem to be doing this to anybody else.
