Entourage/Exchange Performance issue with G5

I have a new dual processor G5 (2.5 GHz). I am using the Entourage 2004
(version 11.1.0) with our Exchange server. I find that when moving between
messages or composing a new message, the system frequently hangs for a few
seconds with the spinning beachball. Text that I type isn't even echoed
until the beachball goes away. I don't see this behavior on my Powerbook
G4, where Entourage 2004 is configured similarly. Any ideas on this?

I am having the same problem and searching for answers as well.

What I've noticed when this happens on my G4-400 is that Entourage is
synchronizing my calendar or doing some other sync function on the server.
That's the best I can say from what I've noticed about this issue.
