Entourage & Exchange Public Folder date/imte stamp changes

We are trying to file emails from Entourage clients (Mac Office 2004) into public folders on our Exchange server. When we do this, the dat & time stamp of the email is changing to the dats of when that email was dragged and dropped into the public folder - not when it was originally received. Is there any way around this issue?
Does Mac Office 2008 do this also?
