Entourage/Exchange setup problems

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I've managed to get Entourage to connect to our Exchange server (2003), but I am not able to get it to synchronize or actually get my e-mail or calendar. I assume I am missing a setting or something, but haven't been able to figure out what. I set the Exchange server to the web mail access address, which is what finally got me connected - but I don't know if there is something on the server I need to adjust or in Entourage - any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!

Hi,

What do you mean?? How do you know you are properly connected?

Most of the time, you can simply enter the http address of the the OWA
server as your Exchange server. Is that what you did??
Do you get any error message?? any warning of any kind??

I am not entirely sure I am properly connected, but I quit getting error messages, and it appeared to be online. Yes, I did set the OWA address as the Exchange server - that is when I stopped getting error messages, and it appeared online. But it is still not syncing the calendar or e-mail or contacts. I have looked at all the account settings in Entourage, and they all look correct to me. Would there be anything on the Exchange server that I would have to change?

Thanks!!

Is it the same whether you are connected locally (through LAN) or from a
remote location??

Not sure... there are so many possibliities :-\
It could be blocked for WAN access, it could be that the server uses
authentication methods that are not compatible, etc.
In our case, we have one server we use for OWA, and another one,
accessible only through LAN, for Entourage.

The OWA server uses cookie-based authentication (a script that asks you
if you are using a public or private computer and has a cookie expiring
after different amounts of times depending) and that throws Entourage
completely off.
For Entourage, we are required to connect directly to a back-end server.

I finally figured it out - I had to enable DAV on the server and then I had to change the server address to the direct OWA address - I had it set to the web server access (remote) and not directly to the Exchange access.
Thanks for your help!!!
