Frequently - a couple times each hour - my keyboard freezes while I'm in Entourage and the only way to unfreeze is to use the mouse to click on the Desktop, then back to Entourage. Nothing else unfreezes the keyboard - even if I click on another application window.

ALSO - and more importantly, every few days Entourage will – in a flash –close all open applications and documents and take me back to the Login screen. It doesn't even go through the process of closing apps and asking me to save changes - so anything I was working on is lost and I have to start over.

Are you sure this only happens while you're using Entourage? Can you
work on your Mac with Entourage quit and verify you don't see this problem?

What makes you think this is Entourage causing this behavior? It doesn't
have the capabilities to quit other applications and log you out of your
Mac. I would suspect something at the system level is causing this. Do
you have a disk utility such as DiskWarrior that you can run on your
machine?

I have seen a similar problem with Entourage. It starts ignoring the
keyboard until I switch to another application. Occasionally using the mouse
to select a different Entourage window will work, but not always.

I agree. This sounds like it's something more complex than an Entourage
problem.

Hi Jeff,

Log out/in with Shift key down and run Entourage. This disables all startup
items. Be sure not to launch any haxies that you have in startup items.

Does Entourage behave in this setting?

If no...

I suggest you create a new User in System Preferences. Use Entourage with a
new blank Identity in the new User for a while and see if the problems exist
in the User in a new Identity.

Let us know what testing shows.

I just saw this on another forum. Worth checking out:

Finder quits and restarts every couple of minutes

where the problem was apparently found to be related to Stuffit Deluxe.
