Entourage hyperlink

I use Entourage (2004 I believe) at work. I need to send out an email that has a link in that once clicked on will launch a new email, have a specific subject, a certain address in the "send to" and even a few words in the body of the email. Apparently Entourage does not support html. Is this asking too much? I know there are scripts that I can install that will help...but I'm really new to this html stuff.

Any advice would be appreciated, and I can certainly give more information if more is needed.

Thanks in advance.

There are two issues here.

Sending out the 'link' is as as simple as writing the appropriate
mailto: line. Where Entourage's HTML limitations come into play is if
you want to link the email address to a word, as opposed to just
including it as-is.

The problem is that there is no accepted standard for extensions to
mailto:. Subject is common, but message body is not. Depending on what
email program your recipients are using, it either will or will not
work. (It *does* work with Entourage.)

Your best bet is to create a web form with the values you desire and
link to that.

But if you want to experiment, try:
mailto:address?subject=Subject&body=Body

Replace spaces with '+'.

Thanks for the quick reply Adam. I have a little more info which I think supports what you wrote. I wrote a simple mailto line and was able to email myself the link, click on it, which opened a new mail, had the address, subject line and body content I wanted. So my test to myself worked, but when I emailed the test to a person on a PC using Outlook (I'm on a mac) it did not work.

Yes, as I said, it depends on what program the recipient is using.
Since there is no widely accepted standard, you're better off using
something that is guaranteed to work - like a web form.
