Entourage icon in dock keeps animating for no reason??

My Entourage icon keeps popping up and down in the dock, and you would think that there would be some kind of error message or SOMETHING indicating why this is happening, but once you click on it, it stops..and that's it. I can't for the life of me figure out why..and I'm fully aware of the option in preferences to "animate icon" when new mail arrives, which is currently switched off, because it's super annoying to me. What's the deal??

Jeff, do you have any Rules that may be triggering the bouncing icon?

Check your Entourage Preferences --> Notifications
Be sure you don't have checked "animate icon"

What version of Entourage are you using? See this old fix:

I said in the beginning I don't have animate icon checked..that's why this is so frustrating. I'm using Entourage v. 10.1.6.

You know when you notice an icon bouncing in your dock, and it's usually because you've launched an application, or the application "unexpectedly quit" or you've sent something to print, and you click on it..USUALLY something occurs. A dialog box, or a notification, or a window opens or SOMETHING. In this case, NOTHING HAPPENS. It just stops, goes to the application, and everything is normal..for about five minutes. Then it starts again! It's maddening!! (and I have to keep my e-mail open,because it's for work.) PLEASE HELP ME!!

If you are going to use old software, at least update it. 10.1.9 is the last
update for Entourage X.
