Entourage Image Link Corruption

Hello,

We are having some trouble with inserting a image link so Entourage
clients can view it. Basically we are using a CRM tool with an email
template, this tool inserts a link

http://na5.salesforce.com/servlet/servlet.ImageServer?id=01570000000STTO&oid=00D700000008YNg

Other PC email clients receive this email with link as is, but when
the email is opened in Entourage 2004 the link somehow gets corrupted/
modified to:

http://na5.salesforce.com/servlet/servlet.ImageServer?id=3D01570000000STTO&oid=3D00D700000008YNg

Notice the "3D" is now inserted after each = sign. Entourage seems to
insert this for some reason, which breaks the image link. We do not
have access to write the HTML code for the email template, Could this
have something to do with encoding anyone have any ideas on fixing
this?

The Check for "Display Complex HTML in message" is checked, have tried
it the other way too. I have also tired viewing and sending in
different encodings.

Thanks

Don

Hi Don!

I think you're absolutely correct that this is a character encoding
issue but I can't tell you how to resolve it. But you may be interested
to know that Entourage can not be used to compose complex HTML, which
may be part of the problem. The only way to send complex HTML is to use
Word to compose your HTML message and then use the File --> Send to Mail
Recipient (HTML) command.

Have a look at this link on the Entourage Help Page for more information
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/html_msg.html>.

Hope this helps!

Bill,

I think you misunderstood Don's complaint. His issue is not creating the
e-mail, it's how Entourage is interpreting the e-mail created in his CRM
application. For some reason, Entourage is inserting the hex 3D which is the
hex equivalent of "=" in ASCII after each "=" in the message. The URL should
contain either "=" or "&3D".

On the surface, it sounds like an Entourage bug, but perhaps someone knows a
workaround.

Hi Ed!

I had to go back and re-read the original post a few times to get the
gist. Now I understand that this is a problem with Entourage displaying
a received message, not a problem with Entourage trying to send the message.

Sorry for any misunderstandings.

This is exactly the problem, an email from our CRM system is being
sent out and our Entourage clients are not able to see the picture the
email contains, while our Outlook clients can.
