Entourage is not Exchange friendly

Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions when working in
Entourage using Microsoft's Exchange Server 2000? My problems are,
Entourage does not view "Public Calendars", and it does not view the
"Notes" that are stored on the Exchange Server. I am trying to up
grade a company with 20 Mac OS9 machines to OS X (rest of the company
is using Windows) but I have to have a solution for a mail client
that will access Calendar, Contacts, Public Folders, etc on a Exchange
Server.

Note I do not want to run classic mode and use Outlook 2001 for the
Mac. Is Microsoft going to come out with a new version of Outlook for
OS X? or am I stuck with a program that was made to use POP and IMAP?
(SLOW)

Thanks

Good luck. From what I can tell this is not possible with Entourage.
Outlook does work in classic mode, but it certainly won't be around
forever as Microsoft has basically replaced it with Entourage.

If you find a solution I would love to hear it.

Well, surely at some point MS are going to release an update to
Entourage with the missing features? Aren't they? Surely?

Are you using Office v.X and have you applied the "Microsoft Exchange Update
for Entourage (Office v.X 10.1.4 Update)" yet?

My understanding was that this update provided full integration between
Entourage and Exchange Server.
It's on Microsoft's Mactopia site.

My understanding was that this update provided full integration between
Entourage and Exchange Server.

It is an Exchange client for Mac OS X, but it does not provide the full
functionality that Outlook 2003 does. The inability to synchronize notes
and to view public calendars are both known issues.

If you want those features to be considered for inclusion into a future
release, please submit the suggestion to Microsoft. In Entourage X, go to
Help -> Send Feedback on Entourage. Otherwise, click on this direct link to
enter Mac Product Feedback:

I think you can expect that, yes - or some "missing features" anyway.
Entourage 10.1.4 ("Exchange client") was put out as a _free_ update, as
quickly as possible, in response to all the people who said they wanted a
native OS X MS app for Exchange and were "tired" of using Outlook 2001 in
Classic (although it still works OK there). That didn't give the MS Mac
Business Unit much time - nothing like their regular release cycle - to
implement a whole new dimension for Entourage, so they did the most
important features for this first, free update. I think it would be
reasonable to expect that in the next full release of Mac Office there would
be significant updates of the Exchange features, as well as other features,
but there's been no official announcement as yet. It would be rather
surprising if they didn't upgrade features in an upgrade release.
