Entourage leaves tooltips behind with command-tab app switch

I've got an annoying problem with Entourage on my Mac. It leaves the yellow tooltip popups showing over other applications when you switch with command-tab. For example, hover over a subject line and, when the yellow expansion pops up, command-tab to another app. The pop-up tool tip remains floating on top!

This is incredibly annoying. There's gotta be some simple fix!

This hasn't been reported before so it's probably specific to your computer.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it's your User's folder that contains the problem.

If you see the problem in a new Identity and a new User account, then it's a
system wide problem. Download and run the latest Apple combo updater.

If the problem goes away then we know the problem is in your User's account.
The next step would be to test in a new Identity.

Let me know what your testing results show.

I'm trying some combinations here, and it appears that Safari or Mail has to be running for it to do this - other apps let the tooltip go away!

I'm creating a new user to try it in now.

Diane,

I created a new user account and ran just Entourage and Safari. If I let the tooltip for the date pop up in Entourage by hovering over it (I moved the preview pane to the bottom, too) then command-tab to switch to Safari, the tooltip stays up.

The computer is completely up to date as far as I know, running 10.5.5. I ran both Microsoft and Apple software updaters and they don't find anything to install. This new user account had never been used before so it should be completely clean.

Any other suggestions?

It could be an add-on for Safari.
