Entourage mail servers

I am new to Entourage, was a PC and Outlook user. In Outlook I used profiles for different mail server setting but to check the same mailbox and had all of my mail go into the same personal folder. In other words when I'm at home I need to check my pop box on mail.domain.com (example) but send through my ISP smtp.domain.net. But when I am in the office I use the direct IP address of my mail servers. In Outlook I just had different profiles that would have the appropriate mail server setting. How do I do this in Entourage? From reading about identities that seems to save the mail in a different location when you change identities. This may be a misunderstanding.

Oh I see what you are talking about. You can't use the domain name from
work or the IP from home ??
I'm not sure that's natively supported. You might be able to write a
script to switch from one to the other though.

I believe you can find some for SMTP servers on various sites. Modifying
them for the IMAP server shoudln't be too hard.

Identities could be a solution I guess. BUt the accounts would then take
twice as much space since all e-mails would need to be downloaded in
each identity. On top of that, you'd have to re-write all the rules, etc
in each identity,

I know there are AppleScripts that can change the SMTP server, it should
be possible to do the same with the POP server.
