Entourage Message Preview Pane - Plain Text vs HTML

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange I'm running Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition. OS is 10.5.8.

The message preview pane is showing all of my messages in Plain Text format only, and I don't see a way to switch it to displaying in HTML format. Does anyone know a way to do this? I used to run the regular, non-Web Services version of Entourage, and my messages previewed in HTML format.

Look in Entourage Preferences under Entourage in the Menu bar.

Select Compose and make your selection.

It's actually not with message *composing* that I'm having the trouble (I do have HTML selected in the Compose preferences).
It's the incoming messages in my *inbox* that seem to be previewing in plain text only.

Incoming messages are viewed in the format they were sent. The font you
select in Entourage preferences determines what you see. This is a huge
advantage over HTML.

You can toggle HTML off, but you can¹t make plain text into HTML.

Thanks again, Diane. I don't think it's correct, however, that incoming messages are always viewed in the format sent. I am now receiving messages in plain text from the same people whose email always used to show up in HTML format back when I was using the non-Web Services version of Entourage. I'm quite sure that they are sending me HTML emails as always. But for some reason, after making the switch to Entourage Web Services, they are appearing on my end as plain text.

Serimez - did you ever receive a good answer for the issue with viewing HTML emails? I am having the same issue that you described and have not found an acceptable solution.

You can take a look at the raw sources of the message. You'll see there
if there is any HTML code in the message itself.

I am now receiving messages in plain text from the same people whose

I have never experienced this problem myself. As Diane said, for me,
Entourage (regular or EWS) always displays the e-mails in the format
they are sent.
