HELP! Entourage keeps sucking all the messages from my inbox to the "on my computer" inbox. I go to work or get on a pc somewhere, and my inbox is empty. I had to go back to the mac and move them back. 2000 emails. I signed on again today - it did it again.

How the heck do I stop entourage from doing this??? I never set it up to do this. Why is it doing it??? New to Mac. Made the big leap from pc, but this is a pain in the butt! Thanks.

New MacBook 5/09. 2,4gh processor,

Howard

Hi Howard,

see if there are any rules (Tools>Rules) or mailing list rules
(Tools>Mailing List Manager) that are responsible for this behaviour. You
may have created one of these rules by accident, and since rules are meant
to work unobtrusively in the background, you wouldn't really know about
them.

This is a POP account? You can configure your account to leave messages
on the server at Tools > Accounts > (your account) > Options > Server
Options.

However if you routinely use webmail, you should see if your provider
offers IMAP access to your account. It's not entirely reliable to leave
things on a POP server.

Thank you both very much. It was not Rules, but how the Account was configured. Still a bit thrown by Entourage, but i have managed to stop the automatic deletion of the inbox on the server. Been jammed the last few days, so I could only get to this a bit in the evenings. Thanks again!
