Hello, well, I probably should have seen this coming, but. . . .
After I got my new Imac in January, things worked great, but at some point in the late spring, after some OS update or security update, my Word, Excel and PP stopped loading. However, they would load if I double clicked a file, so all seemed well. Plus, Entourage worked fine.
Last week, all died.
I have attempted every known fix I have found (fixed permissions, ran Onyx, ran disk utility, dealt with the fonts, loaded from the test identity, etc....) and nothing. Perusing around, I now see that Office X is way past its prime.
Here's my immediate question: If I purchase Office 2004 or 2008, will an upgrade work okay? In particular, assuming the programs load fine, will the new Entourage see my old folders, rules, sigs, etc...?
I hope someone here might have a good idea on this issue. I don't think there is any other thing I can try to resurrect my programs, so while I would love one of you to have a magic bullet, I'm not looking for it.
