Entourage on Intel (more woes)

C

Craig Roberts

Following on from Jackson's comments (or complaints) about Entourage being
slow on Intel Mac, I have further woes.

Not only is it slow on my MacBook Pro Duo 2 as on previous PowerBook G4 with
previewing messages with graphical content, but it sometimes chooses to just
grind to a halt.

The only repeat instance of this is when I sometimes create new message and
then typing grinds to a snail's pace. As I type nothing appears then
character by character my message is displayed.

This usually coincides with the menu options becoming greyed out. In this
situation I have found that it's not possible to Quit and Force Quitting
takes more than one attempt.

I am reluctant to Rebuild as this destroys my assignment of Categories to
emails.

Anyone else suffered similar?

System:
MacBook Pro 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/3GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM. Mac OS X
10.4.9.
Entourage 11.3.3.

(Microsoft, please hurry up with Entourage for Intel release. I can put up
with the rest of Office running slow, but Entourage is painful.)

Regards
Craig.

See some of the suggestions on slow performance. Entourage 2008 will be a
universal application and should solve issues like this for Intel Mac users.

After about a year running Entourage on my MacBook Pro, I am starting
to have problems too. The Database Daemon is failing to respond
multiple times a day. I'll try Diane's suggestions.
