My Entourage works fine at home but whenever I connect to the internet
via someone else's wi-fi or on another network I can only receive
emails - not send. When I try to send I get the error message: Error:
-17092 saying the The SMTP server does not recognize any of the
authentication methods supported by Entourage.

THat's very common. It's true of all e-mail client applications.
Your SMTP won't relay unless you are directly connected to it (that's a
spam fighting measure),

You need to either use authenticated SMTP (then the server usually
accepts to relay), use the SMTP fo the network you are connected to (not
always possible) or use your own Mac as your SMTP server by enabling
Postfix (you can find an article about this on
http://entourage.mvps.org)
