ENTOURAGE--PALM HOT SYNC FAILURE

I am recently upgraded to 10.3 and ran the Office updates 10.1.2, 10.1.4,
and 10.1.4. Then I ran the Entourage "Handheld Sync Installer" to allow hot
sync between Entourage and my Palm m500. This used to work when I was
running OS 10.1.5, and in fact worked a few times when I tried it in OS
10.3. But now I get a message saying "The application Conduit Manager has
unexpectedly quit" in the middle of the hot sync when the calendar is
syncing. I installed Norton System Works between the time I last hot synced
and also ran the indexing routine from the Finder. I can see the Entourage
Conduit in the Palm Hotsync folder but I am at a loss as to what to do
next...

Robert:

_Many_ people seem to have problems with Palm Desktop after upgrading to
10.3. There are scattered threads regarding these problems around the web
but PalmOne (prev. Palm) claims it knows of no problems and actually claims
to support 10.3 in its current release of Palm Desktop (I just received an
e-mail to this effect from its support staff).

Some people have been able to sync OK after installing 10.3, but most people
seem to have problems, including being able to sync only a couple of times.
I cannot even reinstall the Palm Desktop application (v 4.1) in 10.3 due to
errors during the installation process.

It is a bit surprising that you get as far as you do in your syncing, but I
wish to let you know that many people are having trouble with 10.3 and
PalmOne's software.

I am going to get in touch with PalmOne's support again to let them know
about the problems people are having.

Sincerely,
Jonas

Jonas:

Well I thought I had it figured out when I saw in the Entourage technical
support page of the Mactopia website that you could trash the Entourage
Storage file from the Entourage Data Folder in Documents/Users/Palm Folder
then HotSync and rebuild the file. I did that and I had a successful
HotSync! I was a happy camper. Then I just tried it today and got a "Fatal
Alert" on my Palm with the message "DataMgr.c Line:6317, invalid uniqueID
passed" whatever that means. So I am back to square one. If you find
anything out I would be very interested in a permanent fix to the problem.
