Entourage re-syncs ALL messages from yahoo mail

Help! Once in a while, during the Send/Receive, it grabs ALL 2,000+ messages from my Yahoomail box, which duplicates almost all the messages already in my Entourage mail, and I can't make it stop once it starts. This wastes up to an hour of my time.

I've noticed that coincidentally, my Yahoo mail is also open in a browser when this happens. How can i prevent this? Anyone help please!

Are you accessing your Yahoo! account using POP or IMAP?

From a quick glance at the Yahoo! help, it appears that they only offer
POP access. POP is not always reliable for keeping mail on the server
longer than a few days. It's just not designed for it.

Not so coincidental, it's not wise to access your email from two places
simultaneously - this is just about guaranteed to confuse the server
about what mail you've downloaded and what you have not. If you want to
use Entourage to manage your mail, take it off the server. Otherwise,
IMO stick with webmail. You're mixing two paradigms.

If I'm mistaken and IMAP is available for Yahoo!, you should switch
immediately and this will clear up your problems.
