Entourage Sends a Message I didn't write following download of my messages from ISP

I am using Office 2004 on an iMac G4 connected to a broadband cable ISP
"Comcast"

I recently rebuilt my Entourage Database (open Entourage holding down
the "option Key") on the recommendation of an article in one of the two
popular Mac magazines. Ever since, when I download my messages from my
ISP The dialog box in the lower right says messages remaining to be
sent: 1. I did not write this message and have no idea where it came
from. Eventually an error message appears indicating that the the
"message maximum size exceeded"; The Explaination section of the error
window says "mail could not be sent" followed by the name of my POP
account. Below that it reads "Error -17099. This so called messaged
slows everything down to a crawl.

I tried reinstalling Office which didn't help. I finally used
Mictosoft's Uninstall Office application which not only deleted all the
files associated with Office 2004 it also deleted an older version I
had running under classic. I then reinstalled Office 2004 from the CD.
That didn't solve the problem either. When I launched Entourage all my
mail was still there as was my address book and the problem was still
there as well.

I don't know where the mail file is stored, nor do I have any idea why
the problem exists in the first place. I'm not even really sure that
what is trying to be sent is a real message.

Has anyone had a similar experience and how do you fix it? The only
solution I have found is to quit Entourage and restart it which isn't a
satisfactory solution.
Suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you look in the Outbox? You should find the message there.
