Entourage Spelling Pref

I have an iMac running OS 10.4.5 and MS Office 2004 with Entourage 11.2.3.
When I bring up the Entourage Preference panel and select Spelling, a page
of options comes up with no options checked. If I check the box for Check
spelling as you type (and/or any of the other options), then click OK I
would expect the checked options to take effect. They don't. If I reopen
the Preferences panel and click Spelling, it again brings of the page of
unchecked options. None of the other General Preferences behave this way,
i.e., once an option is checked, it stays checked. I tried
quitting/reopening Entourage and I tried rebooting, all to no avail.
Selecting Dictionary in the Entourage Tools menu indicates that the main
dictionary was installed along with Office 2004. On my PowerMac G4, this
problem does not exist, i.e., any spelling option change stays in effect. I
exhausted the Entourage Help messages that were available, also to no avail.
I have not tried to reinstall Entourage 2004, hoping that would be
unnecessary.

I would certainly appreciate any help in understanding and resolving this
problem. Thank you.

I am having the same type of problem, but in the AutoCorrect panel. I
have turned off "Correct TWo INitial CApitals and Capitalize first
letter of sentences" and upon restart they are back on. I'm getting
tried of having to keep turning these off.

This is running Entourage 11.2.3 in 10.4.3/4/5. So I'm thinking it's a
MS 11.2.3 update problem. Among many others that are more serious.

I'll be looking forward to any replies you get.
