Entourage stopped pulling e-mail from server

OS: Mac OS X 10.2.8
Entourage X for Mac v 10.0.0

In recent weeks, I have been receiving junk e-mail with subject lines
similar to: online pharmacists, how to increase your size and the
like. I mentioned it to a peer who advised to create an account and
forward the e-mails to spamcop.net. Account created. I double-
clicked each of the spam e-mails and on the initial opening each
blinked and disappeared. I had to open again to forward to spam cop.
Ever since that day, 9/13, Entourage will pull very few e-mails from
the cox server. I've had my G4 since 2002 and have never had a
problem until now. Currently having to log in via webmail to retrieve
e-mails. Contacted Cox and through troubleshooting they advised all
are making it to the server, issue is with Entourage. My fear is
possible malware or spyware, any suggestions on resolving?

Entourage X for Mac v 10.0.0

You are using "End of life" software and you haven't even bothered to update
it. Please download the updater 10.1.9.

Useless waste of time. IMHO

Seriously doubt it's spyware or malware. The weird fonts could have
corrupted some cache file.

I have now updated Microsoft as suggested, now showing Entourage v
10.1.6. Still unable to pull e-mail from the server. I can send test
e-mails from Entourage and other e-mail accounts and they will appear
via webmail but Entourage is not pulling them from the server. I will
continue to troubleshoot, any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Side note: did you know Microsoft charges $49 for over-the-phone
consultations for Entourage

You still need to continue updating. The last version of Entourage X was
10.1.9. You can find that update here:

I suggest you check with your ISP and find out if they offer spam
filtering. Most do but some require that you activate it or set the
level of filtering via their website.

Also, use their webmail interface to delete as much of the spam as
possible. One or more of them is probably preventing Entourage from
downloading.

Side note: did you know Microsoft charges $49 for over-the-phone
consultations for Entourage

All Microsoft support for Entourage X more than 1-1/2 years ago. I doubt
you could even pay them to support it.

If at all possible, you should upgrade to a current version of software.
Entourage X doesn't even support the Daylight Saving time rules that
went into effect less than 1-1/2 years ago. You'll find getting help
with it more and more difficult.
