Entourage suddenly stops connecting, Outlook OK

Every week or so (but not precisely), all Mac Entourage clients are
suddenly unable to connect to our Exchange 2004 server. Outlook
clients (all versions) can continue to connect just fine, but all the
Macs fail. There is nothing that happens to kick them off (i.e. there
is no 'weekly' event on the server). Nothing else breaks on the
network and there are no errors reported.

Entourage sits on 'Not Connected' and spins without reporting an
error. Rebooting Entourage and then the Macs don't help. The only cure
is to reboot the whole Exchange server, and suddenly everybody is
allowed back on (for a while...).

I've tried new identities on all the macs, connecting using different
server names and all the macs are fully bound to the AD server. I've
googled and scoured groups for ages but come up with nothing.

Is there a 'Mac-specific' setting somewhere on the server? Something
must be happening that is deliberately kicking off all the macs? I'm
at a loss.

Help hugely appreciated.

Hi,

Outlook and Entourage use different protocols to connect to the Exchange
servers so the fact that Outlook works doesn't mean anything
unfortunately,
Entourage sits on 'Not Connected' and spins without reporting an
error. Rebooting Entourage and then the Macs don't help. The only cure
is to reboot the whole Exchange server, and suddenly everybody is
allowed back on (for a while...).

This really looks like a server issue...

Well Entourage uses WebDAV to connect so that's where you should be
looking :-\
(Outlook uses MAPI)
