Entourage syncs to Palm but not vice versa

I use Entourage 11.2.1 and a Palm M130 with Palm OS 4.1. For the last
few weeks, when I synchronize, data from Entourage syncs to the Palm
but not reliably from the Palm to Entourage.

Additions or changes to the To-Do List on the Palm are not reflected in
Entourage at all.

New Date Book events seem to sync to Entourage Calendar pretty well,
but Calendar changes made on the Palm do not always sync to Entourage.

I believe this used to work. I sync the Palm also with Outlook at work,
where there's never a problem. It used to work with Entourage at home
too. I've removed and reinstalled both Palm Desktop (4.2.1 Rev. A) and
the Entourage conduit, to no avail. The Entourage conduit shows Address
Book, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes all set to Synchronize, except for one
Category (used for tasks of interest only at home, not even on the
Palm). None of the Tasks on the Palm have this category, of course.

I have this feeling that I'm missing something simple, but I don't know
what. Any ideas?

PowerMac G5 2GHz, 1GB RAM, OS X 10.4.5.

[Contacts are a different issue, because I use a non-standard Palm app
(KeyContacts).]

I fear this might be something to do with Palm Desktop. Did you check
the settings for the HotSyncs there ??? There might be something fishy
there.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'd already done that, but I checked
again anyway. Unfortunately, no help there: the conduit settings are
just the same as in the HotSync app. And the conduits for the Palm
Desktop apps were all placed in a disabled conduits directory.

I've had problems like that with The MIssing Syunc for a while and the
problem was from TMS and not from ENtourage. Now that the bugs have been
corrected on their side, I'm synching just fine to Entourage which would
tend to suggest to me that the Entourage conduit might not be to blame
for your problems :-\

Maybe I should try The Missing Sync. I've been wondering whether some
of the problem has to do with Tiger. I see many posts on Apple, Palm,
and Entourage groups about syncing issues with Tiger. e2Sync, in their
somewhat snotty way, imply that Palm Desktop 4.2.1 Rev. D is necessary
to utilize iSync successfully, but Palm recommends nothing later than
Rev. A for my M130. Mark/Space explicitly supports my m130, but I've
been hesitant to try TMS without a way to see if it works.
Sigh.

I'm using Tiger too...

Are you using e2Sync ?? I've had nothing but trouble with their app. I
stopped counting how many times it trashed my address book and
calendar.
The next Entourage update (due this month) will bring Sync Service
support. For Tiger users, it mean that address book and calendar will
sync through that to the System Address book and to iCal. It also means
that The Missing Sync will no longer need to use the Entourage conduit
(since it already supports Sync Services).

If I were you and if you have Tiger, I'd wait until then to find out
whether this new scheme corrects all the trouble you have. Even without
the Missing SYnc, you could sync to the system Address Book and iCal and
use the Palm software to sync them to the Palm. In any case, for Tiger
users, it means that e2Sync will no longer be necessary.
