Ten percent of the people seem to always fail to get the word and I am
in that 10% group. I am guessing Microsoft Entourage talk is for the
visually impaired users?
A talk list is via email where a newsgroup is read using a newsreader.
Entourage can do both. It's not a robust newsreader but is great for the
Microsoft newsgroup to get help. Much better than using the Google interface
because you can view and sort the messages like you do with your mail.
Most talk lists are moderated where newsgroups aren't. Consequently, you
don't get the flame wars and bad behavior you see on newsgroups in a talk
list.
I also find that members of a talk list stick around to learn and
contribute. This creates a community. People that post on newsgroups often
do so just for finding the answer to one question. MVPs and a very few
knowledgeable Mac users monitor these newsgroups. You'll find a much wider
audience on the talk lists so you replies for help can offer more options.

Many of the listees from the Emailer talk list are on the Entourage talk
list now.
