Entourage temporarily freezes...why?

sometimes when i wake the computer or after i get mail, entourage
freezes for 5-10 seconds. i click on emails but nothing happens. once
it unfreezes, it works perfectly.

i am using office 2004 with entourage 11.4.0 and have system 10.5.2. i
have lots of free space on my hard drive and 1 gig of RAM.

Entourage 2004 is known to 'hang' it's probably worse in Leopard.

Upgrading your RAM would be a big boost for you. I generally recommend 2 GB
for PPC and 4 GB for Intel Macs.
