Entourage Threading missing many posts

L

Lance - Mac Newbie

Hello, I am looking for some assistance with the threading of posts in
the mac:Office - Entourage 10.1.1 - where I am seeing many posts
appear outside of the threaded topics. I have the "threaded" option
checked under "view" however many messages will appear as if they are
not threaded - when they should be.

I have verified that things are threaded by using a PC - and viewing the
same newsgroups with Outlook Express. If anyone has information
about the ability to address this problem - it would be much
appreciated.

PS - I had previously assigned certain topics to Categories and have
now changed them so that they are all set to "none" (thinking that this
may have some affect".

Please send me a note - if you have any infomation

You should download and install the latest Office X updates, which are
10.1.2, 10.1.4, and 10.1.5 (10.1.3 is unnecessary). They¹re available from
Microsoft.

The threading only works with messages that have the same subject line. If
any modification is made, even if it is in reply to another message in the
thread, the message will appear as a separate thread. To correct this
issue, Microsoft would need to implement threading by reference (like Apple
Mail) in Entourage. If you would like to see this happen, please submit the
feature request to Microsoft. In Entourage X, go to Help -> Send Feedback
on Entourage. Otherwise, click on this direct link to enter Mac Product
Feedback:

If that's not the case, this could be happening as a result of database
corruption. You should try rebuilding your database. First, go to
Entourage -> Turn Off Office Notifications. Now, quit Entourage, and then
restart Entourage holding down the Option key. When the Rebuild dialog box
comes up, choose to do a Typical Rebuild.
