Entourage trying to dial my modem?

A client of mine is using Entourage 10.1.6 with just one Exchange
account set up. As long as the mac is connected to the network,
entourage works just fine. As soon as I unplug it from the network, I
start to get pop up error messages from the Internet Connect
application that says that it couldn't dial because I have not
entered a phone number to dial. All I can do is click "OK" and the
message goes away...but will come back fairly quickly. If I check the
console logs, this is what I see:

Entourage is trying to stay in sync with the account. Your best solution is
to choose "Work Offline" from the Entourage menu when not connected to the
network.
