Entourage Unknown Error 4362

After an email retrieval was interrupted by a dropout in my dialup
connection, my In and Out boxes have been 'damaged' - i.e. grey
spaces have occurred where the affected emails were being
downloaded and every subsequent attempt to retrieve or click on those
emails has resulted in an Error 4362 message popping up. Sometimes
the Error window won't go away and I have to Force Quit.

I've uninstalled Office completely and reinstalled it, but the problems
won't go away. It appears that there are some damaged files
somewhere that are not being deleted by the uninstall process.

It's got nothing to do with your installation. It's your database that's
damaged. Rebuild your database by holding down Option key when launching
Entourage. It may be enough to do a Typical Rebuild to fix this. If it
doesn't, repeat the process choosing Advanced this time.

Sounds like you need to do a database rebuild.

How to rebuild your database:

If you¹re in Entourage X, first go to
Entourage -> Turn Off Office Notifications. Quit Entourage, and then restart
Entourage holding down the Option key. When the Rebuild dialog box comes up,
choose to do a Typical Rebuild.
