Entourage vs Mail: what ARE the differences?

S

Scott

I have a long-time Mac friend who has used Eudora since OS7, and he's
finally ready to switch. I immediately went into my "you gotta go with
Entourage", but being the logical fellow that he is, said, "why? Why
not Mail?" And I realized I had no good answer. In fact, maybe the
Tiger version of Mail is the better way to go, I've just been with
E'rage since OS9 days and love it.

Anyone ever see a comparison chart or article of Mail and Entourage? Or
has someone thoroughly tried both, to know the pluses and minuses of
them? The obvious ones are:

1. Mail is free. Entourage costs.
2. Entourage is a proprietary database. Some don't like the fact that
if that db goes kablooey, that can be a problem.
3. Mail and its address book are two separate apps (I hear they're
being combined in next version).
4. I have a dozen amazing customized apple scripts that I use hourly
for email orders and boilerplate responses, etc.

Any others?
