Entourage vs. Outlook

I recently switched from PC to Mac and was disappointed to find out that Entourage doesn't have many of the functions that I liked in Outlook. I have the Student and Teacher version of Office 2004. Has the 2008 upgrade added any features to Entourage, or is it still inferior to Outlook?

Entourage is not Outlook. They are developed by separate teams for separate
audiences. There are many, many things about Outlook I do not like; although
there are certainly Outlook features I would like to see in Entourage.

Rather than ask the loaded question of "is Entourage 2008 more like
Outlook," you'd be better off asking aboutspecific features that you want
- and suggesting the missing ones to Microsoft.

In addition to Adam's comments, here's a list of improvements posted by Andy
Ruff, the lead program manager for Entourage, on the Entourage newsgroup:

* Out of Office
* Kerberos Single Sign-on
* Free/Busy Detailing
* To Do flag sync
* Delegation over HTTP

Here's the direct link to an article I wrote. It explains the different
philosophies that drive Entourage and Outlook:
